Ghanaian influencer and entrepreneur Kwatemaa Andoh has stated that she has no intention of marrying a poor man, insisting that she wants a partner who matches or exceeds her financial status.

Speaking in a video shared on social media on July 8, 2026, Kwatemaa dismissed criticism from social media users who have labelled her a gold digger, saying she is unapologetic about her standards.

"I've been watching some of the comments on TikTok, and I just laugh. Do some of you think life is a Nigerian movie? As I am here, I've not rested since March. I've been working back-to-back. I work so hard, and you expect me to settle for a poor person? I won't do that because life is not a Nigerian movie," she said.

She maintained that she would rather be called a gold digger than lower her expectations when choosing a life partner.

"If you think I'm a gold digger, then I like it. I will never settle for less, and this is reality. It's either you're on the same level as me or you're above me. Even if you bewitch me, it won't work. All those comments don't get to me," she stated.

Kwatemaa, however, clarified that she would stand by a husband who experiences financial difficulties after marriage.

"When you have a sister, and she is rich, you can give her to a poor man for them to get married. It's different when I'm married, and the person's business collapses, or something happens to him. It's my duty to make sure we all grow together," she explained.

She noted that because she enjoys the lifestyle she has built for herself, she has no intention of entering a relationship where she would have to carry the financial burden.

"As I'm here, I'm enjoying my own life, booking business class and doing everything on my own. Should I allow a man to be a liability? I love money, so if you're coming into my life as a man, hustle twice like me so that we can be a match," she added.
