Kumawood actor Wayoosi has called on President John Dramani Mahama to take decisive action against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Sports Minister Kofi Adams following the Black Stars’ underwhelming performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In a video shared on social media, Wayoosi argued that one of the major reasons Ghanaians voted for President Mahama in the 2024 general election was his Reset Ghana Agenda.

According to him, that agenda should also extend to Ghana football, particularly the Black Stars.

He described the Black Stars’ campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup as disappointing, pointing specifically to Ghana’s 1-0 defeat to Colombia in their final match, which brought the country’s tournament to an end.

Wayoosi further alleged that some officials at the Ghana Football Association, including President Kurt Okraku and Communications Director Henry Asante Twum, have turned the association into their personal property and are running it to serve their own interests.

He therefore urged President Mahama to dissolve the current leadership of the GFA and appoint a new administration.

“Mr President, the way the Black Stars are being managed, you are the only one who can help the team regain its glory days. One of the key agendas that made Ghanaians vote for you was resetting Ghana. Therefore, resetting Ghana should also include resetting Ghana football, particularly the Black Stars.

“Looking at the team’s performance at the World Cup, it was underwhelming, especially in our last match. Some people have turned the GFA into their personal property and are the only ones benefiting from it. If possible, sack Kurt Okraku, Henry Asante Twum, and all the other leaders. They should all go,” Wayoosi said.

The actor also called for the performance of Sports Minister Kofi Adams to be investigated.

He argued that if the minister is found to have performed poorly and should also be relieved of his duties.

Wayoosi explained that his appeal stems from the fact that the Black Stars remain a symbol of national pride and unity, bringing Ghanaians together regardless of political affiliation.

He stressed that the country cannot remain silent while the national team continues to decline.

“Mr. President, dissolve the GFA and also sack Sports Minister Kofi Adams if he is not competent enough for the job. We cannot sit back and watch our Black Stars fall into ruin because of a few individuals.”
