Ghanaian visual artist, poet, and the first official Guinness World Record (GWR) holder for the Largest Leaf Print Painting in the world, Sharon Dede Padi, popularly known as Padiki, has reportedly passed away at the age of 50.

According to reports, the celebrated visual artist died in the early hours of July 7, 2026.

However, the exact circumstances surrounding her untimely death have not been confirmed, as her family and close associates are yet to release an official statement.

Padiki was a devoted mother who left behind three children, one son and two daughters.

She made history as the first official Guinness World Record holder for the Largest Leaf Print Painting in the world.

Before her passing, she was last seen publicly at the launch of the 200th anniversary of the Odwira Festival, where she presented a live painting of Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, the Okuapehene, in her role as the Ambassador for Visual Arts.

Beyond her achievements as a visual artist, Padiki was also a respected poet whose work explored themes of identity, heritage, and the Ghanaian experience.

Over the years, she became a leading voice in Ghana's contemporary art scene, mentoring young creatives and using art as a powerful tool for storytelling and social commentary.
