Ghanaian dancehall artiste Samini has expressed frustration following the heavy downpour that left parts of Accra flooded.
In a post shared on X on June 8, 2026, Samini voiced disappointment with institutions responsible for planning and managing the city's drainage system.
According to the musician, Ghana has been overseeing urban and drainage planning since independence, yet the country continues to experience severe flooding with little visible improvement.

Samini further criticised officials responsible for planning in Accra, suggesting they should be held accountable for what he described as poor planning decisions.
“We have been in charge of town and country planning since 1957, yet we see floods every year. Who has been doing the planning, chale?
"The person who gave people permits to build homes in waterways is the one I'm looking for… mount a search, chale. #AccraFloods #GhanaFloods. Pray for those affected,” he said.
