You wanted Kweku Smoke’s career dead, now you’re at his show - DJ Slim to Shatta Wale

Ghanaian disc jockey and media personality, DJ Slim, has criticized dancehall artiste Shatta Wale for promoting his upcoming London concert at rapper Kweku Smoke’s show despite their troubled history.

Speaking on the ‘Street Is Watching’ podcast, DJ Slim questioned Shatta Wale’s actions, recalling how the musician publicly threatened Kweku Smoke years ago and vowing to end his career.

According to DJ Slim, Shatta Wale’s appearance at Kweku Smoke’s concert in London to promote his own upcoming show was contradictory, considering the tension that once existed between the two artistes.

“When he needed a platform to sell his tickets he went to Kweku Smoke’s show. The same person you insulted, and threatening to kill his career, you also told your stupid people to go and insult. There is nothing faker than that,” DJ Slim said.

He referenced incidents from 2018 when Shatta Wale allegedly threatened to beat up Kweku Smoke, destroy his career, and instructed members of the Shatta Movement to attack the rapper online, after he (Kweku Smoke) alleged that his song had been stolen by Shatta.

DJ Slim further addressed long-standing claims that Stonebwoy is fake, jealous, and not genuine.

He argued that such narratives have been repeated over the years as part of a deliberate effort to tarnish Stonebwoy’s image and influence public perception.

He noted that Stonebwoy has never hidden his feelings toward certain individuals within the entertainment industry, making his position clear to the public.

“Stonebwoy has openly stated that he doesn’t like certain people in the industry, and everyone knows that. He is not misleading anybody,” he explained

In contrast, he described Shatta Wale as unpredictable, claiming the dancehall artiste often shifts from publicly attacking people to expressing affection for them shortly afterward.

“One day, Shatta Wale is beefing with someone and calling them out on social media. The next day, he’s showing them brotherly love. He’s neither cold nor hot,” DJ Slim remarked.

The media personality concluded by questioning which of the two artistes should truly be considered fake, the one who openly states his dislikes or the one who frequently changes his stance.

His comments come in the wake of Shatta Wale’s appearance at Kweku Smoke’s London concert, a move that has sparked debate among fans given their highly publicized fallout years ago.
