Nigel Gaisie sues Kumchacha for GH¢10m over alleged defamatory remarks Nigel Gaisie sues Kumchacha for GH¢10m over alleged defamatory remarks

Founder of Prophetic Hill Chapel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has initiated legal action against Prophet Nicholas Osei, widely known as Kumchacha, over alleged defamatory remarks, seeking damages of GH¢10 million.

The lawsuit, filed at the High Court in Amasaman, marks a significant escalation in a long-running public disagreement between the two prominent Ghanaian religious figures.

According to court documents sighted by GhanaWeb, Prophet Nigel Gaisie contends that Kumchacha made a series of defamatory statements about him during public discussions and on various social media platforms.

The comments allegedly questioned the credibility and authenticity of his prophetic ministry.

Among the claims cited in the suit are allegations that Nigel Gaisie relies on orchestrated arrangements and planted individuals within church congregations to obtain personal information, which he subsequently presents as divine revelations during prophetic sessions.

The plaintiff further argues that Kumchacha made several derogatory remarks about him, portraying him as a false prophet and casting doubt on the legitimacy of his spiritual work.

Prophet Nigel Gaisie maintains that the statements have caused significant harm to his reputation, exposing him to public ridicule and damaging his image among members of the Christian community and the general public.

He also claims that the remarks have strained some of his personal relationships and led to a decline in confidence among certain members of his church.

According to the suit, efforts were made over the years to resolve the matter amicably and privately.

However, Nigel Gaisie asserts that those attempts failed to produce any meaningful outcome, leaving him with no option but to seek legal redress through the courts.

As part of the reliefs being sought, Prophet Nigel Gaisie is asking the court to declare that the statements made by Kumchacha in videos circulated on social media are defamatory.

He is also seeking an order compelling Kumchacha to publicly retract the statements and issue an apology.

In addition, the founder of Prophetic Hill Chapel is demanding damages amounting to GH¢10 million for the alleged harm caused by the publications.
