Ghanaian actress and TV personality Beverly Afaglo has died at 42, leaving her Nollywood and Ghallywood colleagues in grief.

She passed away on May 24, 2026, after a battle with cancer, just four days before her birthday.

The news has hit the industry hard, coming at a time when emotions remain raw over recent losses in the entertainment space.

Mourning her on Instagram, actress Yvonne Okoro recalled how her friendship with Beverly began.

“Beverly was the first friend I made in the industry, and from the beginning, she showed me nothing but genuine love and kindness,” Okoro wrote. “No matter the time or circumstance, she would pick me up from home and make sure I got back safely, never once complaining.”

Okoro said Beverly’s support went beyond life on set. When the actress’s family home was destroyed by fire, Beverly checked in constantly, sending messages of encouragement even when Okoro could not take calls.

“When my family home burnt to the ground, Bev constantly checked in on me. Even when I couldn’t answer her calls, she would send messages reminding me to take things one day at a time. She always said, ‘Yvonne, I’m here for you. Whenever you’re ready to talk, I’m here.’ And I knew if anybody understood how I felt, she did,” she shared.

What pains Okoro most, she added, is the fact that Beverly was privately battling cancer throughout that period, yet still found the strength to comfort others.

Tributes from colleagues continue to pour in as fans celebrate Beverly’s talent, warmth, and legacy on screen and off.
