Popular reggae/dancehall artiste Ras Kuuku has given reasons for Stonebwoy’s continuous dominance in the Telecel Ghana Music Awards(TGMAs).

For a decade, the TGMAs ‘Reggae/Dancehall’ category has had one undisputed winner, Stonebwoy.

His win at the 2026 event was his 10th in a category that has run for 12 years, with only two artistes ever managing to break his stranglehold: Ras Kuuku in 2020 and Epixode in 2021.

Speaking on this, Ras Kuuku, in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, has argued that the gap between Stonebwoy and his peers has nothing to do with effort but everything to do with investment.

"Everybody is working hard. It's not true that the other artistes are sleeping. Stonebwoy invests more money into the business than most of us. He understands the business side very well and puts a lot into promotion and marketing. The more money you invest, the bigger the visibility," he said.

Ras Kuuku acknowledged that Reggae/Dancehall artistes in the country are very active, but financial commitment is ultimately what separates the frontrunners from the rest.

"When one person puts far more money into the craft, the results will also be different. I'm happy he's investing in the industry because it helps the genre grow,” he said.
