Papa Kumasi, the close associate of Dr. Likee, has revealed that the comedian sold his car to finance his comedy show in the United Kingdom over the weekend.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actor dismissed claims that external sponsors heavily financed the successful London event.
According to him, contrary to public speculation, Dr. Likee personally funded the show by sacrificing his own vehicle to make the event possible.
“Dr. Likee had to sell his own car just to sponsor the show. No one can sit anywhere and say it’s not true; the person should come out and prove that,” he said.

He noted that despite the financial challenges, the team felt fulfilled and overwhelmed by the support they received from fans across the world.
According to him, many patrons who attended the event did not even reside in London, as some travelled all the way from the United States just to support the comedian and enjoy the show.
He further expressed appreciation to industry figures and politicians who offered advice, encouragement, and other support when they reached out to him ahead of the event.
Among those mentioned were the Deputy Minister of Tourism Abeiku Santana, Gomoa Central MP Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, and Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie.
The actor said these personalities stood by the team with guidance and encouragement instead of turning their backs on them.
He stressed that the success of the UK comedy event was largely driven by Dr. Likee’s determination, sacrifice, and the unwavering support of fans and well-wishers.
