Ghanaian actor and musician Joshua Keche has opened up about a painful betrayal he experienced in the entertainment industry, recounting how a popular artiste he once helped turned a wealthy patron against him.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM on May 19, 2026, Joshua Keche narrated how he personally vouched for the rising artiste to a wealthy man who was organising a major show for his daughter's birthday.
"I spoke to the man and told him how good this artiste is, so the man was like, ok, let him come and perform for my daughter," he recalled.

But what followed left Keche stunned. The patron, who had previously been close to them, suddenly became unreachable.
"He no longer picked up our calls or replied to our texts. There was a time we waited at his gate for over six hours before we were allowed in, even with that, he didn’t even meet us. It was as if he didn't want anything to do with us," Keche said.
Subsequently, it was the patron's wife who finally explained the cold treatment towards them.
“She then revealed that that particular artiste had badmouthed us to the man. That is why he had been avoiding us.
"I was so pissed. If that artiste were here, I would have beaten him up. He doesn't even know that I connected him for that birthday show," a frustrated Keche said.
While he declined to name the artiste, Keche noted that the individual is now popular, making the betrayal sting even more.
He used the experience to warn about the nature of friendships in the entertainment industry.
"That is what happens in this industry. People you think are your friends will turn back to stab you," he said.
