Ghanaian fashion icon Nana Akua Addo has opened up about why she consistently goes the extra mile when it comes to her extravagant red carpet appearances at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Speaking on United Showbiz, Nana Akua Addo disclosed that the organisers of the award scheme financially support invited guests for the duration of the event.

According to her, celebrities attending the AMVCA are paid for their presence, revealing that the amount can be around $2,000 per day, and in some cases even more depending on the sponsors attached to the event.

She further explained that accommodation and other essential expenses are fully catered for by the organisers, making the experience a very comfortable and luxurious one for attendees.

“When AMVCA invites you, your accommodation, your tickets, they give out money, sometimes $200 dollars, other times $3000, depending on sponsors. And that money is just for one day, so the number of days they want you to stay multiplies it. They also put you in the best hotels decorated nicely, just for activation,” she said

Nana Akua Addo emphasised that the treatment she receives at the event makes her feel valued and appreciated, describing the experience as one that makes her “feel like a queen.”

The renowned style influencer noted that this level of hospitality and recognition is one of the major reasons she continues to invest heavily in her elaborate fashion looks for the AMVCA every year.
