Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has released a song in solidarity with blogger and Shatta Movement supporter Webkid, who has been arraigned before court over allegations of publishing false and offensive content targeting musician Stonebwoy and his family.

Shatta Wale had been vocal about his support for Webkid even before the song's release. At one point he threatened to lead his fans onto the streets in protest if the blogger isn’t freed. "Release Webkid or we hit the streets," he had warned.

The song, previewed in a TikTok live session before its official release, was uploaded to YouTube on May 13, 2026, and has already amassed approximately 100,000 views.

In the track, Shatta Wale dedicated the song directly to the detained fan from the opening lines.

"I dedicate this song to Webkid. Webkid, stay strong," he said.

Meanwhile Webkid is still reportedly in police custody. The statement of offence against him indicates that on November 11, 2024, in Accra, the accused intentionally sent a communication online which allegedly endangered the safety of Stonebwoy and his family.

He faces two charges; publication of false news under Section 76 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775), and offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
