Media personality Kwesi Ernest has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding dancehall artiste Stonebwoy and a Shatta Movement fan identified as Webkid, following reports of legal action over alleged publication of false news about Stonebwoy online.
In a social media post that has since gained attention, Kwesi Ernest expressed support for Stonebwoy’s decision to pursue the matter legally, stressing the need to address cyberbullying and online defamation through the law.
According to him, social media users have become too comfortable hiding behind anonymous accounts to insult and tarnish the image of public figures without consequences.

“Boss if we really want social media bullying to stop we need to allow the law work,” he wrote. “I think Stonebwoy should stand firm on his feet and let the court decide,” he said.
He further stated that some young people use social media platforms irresponsibly to attack individuals who are in better positions to support and uplift them.
He added that allowing the law to take its course would serve as a deterrent to others who engage in similar behaviour online.
“Please don’t beg for him, he must face the law to serve as deterrent to others wishing to do same,” he maintained.
The development has sparked major reactions online, with many supporting Stonebwoy’s decision to seek legal redress.
