CEO of Rough Town Records, Bullet, has opened up about his relationship with Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy, revealing that the musician ignored his request for a collaboration with late singer Ebony Reigns.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, Bullet recounted how he once worked closely with Stonebwoy during the early stages of the musician’s career.
According to him, Stonebwoy was signed under Rough Money Records, a record label he co-founded with a senior from school, after the dancehall artiste left the camp of Samini.
TGMA is boring without Shatta Wale – Bullet
“After Stonebwoy left Samini’s camp, I was the one who signed him; he cannot deny it. I signed him under Rough Money Records; Rough Town came out of that. I co-founded that label with my senior from Ideal College. So I have helped Stonebwoy before,” he said
Bullet explained that after Stonebwoy rose to fame, he reached out to him for a feature for Ebony Reigns, who was signed to Rough Town Records at the time.
However, Bullet claimed Stonebwoy ignored his messages and never responded.
“When I was looking for Ebony’s feature, and I texted him, he ignored me. I was surprised, but I kept it cool,” he asserted
Despite the incident, Bullet stressed that he does not have any personal issues with Stonebwoy.
He explained that although he sometimes criticizes the musician when he disagrees with certain actions or decisions, it should not be interpreted as hatred or a feud.
“There’s no beef between Stonebwoy and I,” he insisted.
Bullet added that he shares a more personal relationship with Shatta Wale, whom he described as a brother, noting how the two of them started the journey together.
He emphasized that though he hasn’t specifically helped Shatta in anyway, he was there before he (Shatta) became who he is today.
According to him, he believes in speaking his mind whenever something does not sit well with him, regardless of the person involved, insisting that expressing his opinion on issues concerning artistes does not mean he is in conflict with them.
“I signed Stonebwoy to a label I co-founded after he left Samini, but when I wanted a feature for Ebony, he never responded.”
