Ghanaian hiplife artiste, Tic Tac, has dismissed claims that he has retired from music, stating that he is simply taking things easy after years of hard work in the industry.

According to him, he spent his youthful years building his career and creating a path for himself and now wants to relax, enjoy life, and spend more time with his family and loved ones.

He, however, clarified that he has not completely stepped away from music, stressing that he would still release projects whenever he feels inspired to do so.

“I’m a musician; I’ve not retired, I’ve not announced that yet, and I believe that I am just enjoying my life. I spent all my childhood making people happy. I have a family now, am happy around them, am enjoying my money and my life, and am giving back to society. Whenever am in the mood, I will drop something," he clarified.

Touching on the growing trend of disrespect in the music industry as a means of gaining attention, the hitmaker noted that some members of the younger generation have adopted the habit of disrespecting veteran artistes, and sometimes even their colleagues, just to stay relevant or attract public attention.

While describing the act as wrong, he admitted that he understands why some people resort to it.

According to him, respect is earned and also depends largely on the kind of people one associates with.

Although he does not support the behaviour, he said he does not want to point fingers at anyone specifically.

“For me it is about who you associate with; I mean, respect is earned. Someone can disrespect you just to create attention, which is wrong but it’s fine; we know where it’s coming from,” he said.
