Public Relations and Communications Officer for Charterhouse Productions, Robert Klah, has disclosed how organisers of the much-anticipated Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) may have to reduce the number of guests for this year’s event.
In an interview with GhanaWeb’s Isaac Dadzie on TGMA Countdown, aired on April 28, 2026, Robert Klah explained that this development follows the need for organisers to switch the venue from the Grand Arena to the Palms Convention Centre.
According to him, the venue change will significantly affect attendance, media accreditation, ticket sales, and guest invitations.
“The new venue reduces the scope and is going to affect attendance. If we used to give media accreditation to about 150 people, we may probably have to reduce it to 50. That’s the reality because everything is dropping. If you were probably inviting 200 guests, it may have to be cut down to maybe 100.
Why the Grand Arena is not available for 2026 TGMAs - Charterhouse PRO explains
“It is affecting everything, including people who are even purchasing tickets. But at the end of the day, you have to focus on the core audience first, and then any other person comes in. Because it is an activity done with public interest highly placed, you also want to ensure that some of this information goes out,” he said.
Robert Klah also appealed to the government to allow organisers to stage this year’s TGMAs at their main venue, the Grand Arena.
According to him, although he understands that the Accra International Conference Centre is undergoing renovation, he would be pleased if organisers are given about two weeks to host the event there, since the facelift does not directly affect the Grand Arena.

“We are also using this medium to plead with the authorities that, considering the stature of the programme, and as we understand that renovation is going to be done at the conference centre, since it is not directly impacting the Grand Arena, if we can still have access to it for the programme.
“It is just about two weeks, and then we are out. After that, whatever renovation is happening can continue,” he added.
