What appeared to be a normal divorce case has now turned into a full legal battle, as counsel for businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye has responded to earlier claims made by his ex-wife, Joana Coffie.
Recently, Richard Nii Armah Quaye was on the Delay show, where he made a series of claims regarding his divorce with his former wife, Joana Coffie.
Following the interview, Joana Coffie’s legal team released what they described as a documented evidence of her role in building the business empire of her ex-husband.

Represented by Godfred Yeboah Dame, Joana Coffie stated in a press release that she and Quaye jointly established Quick Credit & Investment Micro-Credit Company Limited in 2011, shortly after their marriage, an assertion they said is backed by court records and other documents.
Following that statement, Sory & Partners, the legal team representing Richard Nii Armah Quaye, has also issued a press release on April 28, 2026, raising several concerns and refuting some of the claims made by Joana Coffie, including allegations of assault.
In the statement, Sory & Partners noted that Joana Coffie’s claim that RNAQ was unemployed and had no property after returning from the United Kingdom in 2009 was false.
“...Your claim that our client was unemployed and had no property which he currently owns upon his return to the country in 2009 is not borne out by the judgment of the High Court, your statement therefore being made to simply malign our client with the public.”
The legal team also challenged the claims relating to Quick Credit & Investment Micro-Credit Company Limited.
“...Your claim that the issue of the shareholding of Quick Credit & Investment Micro-Credit Company Limited and matters related thereto are subject matters of the divorce proceedings is also not accurate, as your client’s case and reliefs before the Court did not relate to these matters,” the statement added.

On allegations that Joana Coffie was physically abused during the marriage, Sory & Partners strongly denied it, stating that Richard Nii Armah Quaye had never assaulted his ex-wife.
“Regarding your blanket accusation of abuse of your client by our client, we reiterate that our client has consistently maintained that he has never abused your client, and this has been affirmed by the High Court when a submission of no case was upheld in its decision dated November 27, 2025,” the statement noted.
The legal team also refuted claims that Richard Nii Armah Quaye had obstructed justice, describing the allegation made by Dame and Partners as “not only unjustified but also clearly imaginative.”
