Ghanaian talent manager Kendrick Aryee, known in showbiz circles as Kendrick Yehowada, has identified impatience and an unwillingness to be guided as major obstacles standing in the way of many promising young artistes in Ghana.

Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb, the industry stakeholder, who currently works with celebrated music manager Bullgod and has previously worked with acts including VVIP, Shatta Wale, and Rudebwoy Ranking, said too many upcoming artistes are in a hurry to reach the top without putting in the foundational work required to get there.

“Some of these artistes don’t have patience. They feel Rome was built in a day. They don’t realise that a lot goes into climbing the ladder, which involves hard work and staying focused,” he said.

Kendrick, who also serves on the planning committee for the Gomoa Easter Festival, said the kind of talent he is actively seeking is one that comes with humility and a willingness to learn, not just raw ability.

“I’m expecting to see talents that are ready to be groomed, to be guided—talents that are open to receiving the education needed to grow their craft,” he said.

Despite his concerns, the talent manager expressed optimism about the potential of artistes emerging from the Gomoa area, saying the foundation is there for the region to produce stars of the highest order.

“With the necessary support, they are going to become big, like Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, King Promise, and others,” he added.
