Ghanaian actress Charly D has opened up about her approach to acting roles involving intimacy and how she manages public attention around her personal life.

Speaking on a cooking show with Empress Gifty on UTV on April 26, 2026, Charly D explained that she does not regret taking on kissing scenes in movies.

“I don’t regret the kissing role because at the end of the day, I was working,” she said.

However, she admitted that her main concern sometimes is how her romantic partner and his social circle perceive such scenes.

“The only concern I sometimes have is the person I’m in a relationship with. How does he feel? He has friends and what would they say?” she stated.

According to her, her partner understands the nature of her job, which makes things easier between them.

“He understands that I’m working, so it’s not much of a problem,” she shared.

Charly D revealed that in hindsight, she would prefer to have conversations with her partner before filming intimate scenes so that there are no surprises later.

“If I had realised the kissing aspect in the script earlier, I would have discussed it with my partner. In case he later sees something, he would remember we discussed it. Even at that, he’s not really bothered about it,” she explained.

The actress also addressed a viral moment where she was rumoured to be actor Kwaku Manu’s new girlfriend, stating she was unbothered by the speculation.

“When I was trending online that I was Kwaku Manu’s new girlfriend, a lot of people forwarded bloggers’ posts to me, but I felt it was one of those things, so it didn’t bother me,” she added.
