Ghanaian media personality and actress Akuapem Poloo has opened up about the changes in her life and career following her decision to quit twerking on social media.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM on April 8, 2026, Akuapem Poloo revealed that she now commands more respect from people compared to her earlier years in the spotlight.

According to her, influential personalities now show interest in associating with her at events, a shift she attributes to personal rebranding.

“I get a lot more respect from people now than when I used to twerk. Even influential people want to get close to me at events,” she said.

She continued, “They invite me to programs, and I attend the ones I can. I’ve stopped twerking for over four years now. When I used to twerk, things were good for me.”

Akuapem Poloo also noted that despite securing several corporate partnerships, she has chosen not to publicise them, opting instead for a more private approach to her business dealings.

“I also get a lot of corporate deals, but I’ve decided not to publicize them,” she shared.

She further disclosed that although she previously enjoyed ambassadorial deals during her twerking days, her current focus has shifted towards more corporate engagements.

“I used to sign ambassadorial deals and many others, but now I only get corporate deals, and I like it,” she added.
