Ghanaian businessman Nana Kwame Bediako has explained his reasons for domesticating wild animals.
In an interview with the media on April 2, 2026, the 2024 presidential candidate on the ticket of the New Force stated that his primary motivation for importing the animals into the country is to boost tourism.
“I don’t intend to harm anyone; my main focus is to promote tourism. In the future, others can also import them.

“Where they will live is very important. Even in the Bible, God speaks of the blessings of taking care of animals. They are living creatures, so it is important to care for them properly,” he said.
He explained that the tigers have been kept at the Eco Park in the Accra Zoo, located within the Achimota Forest, and that all necessary documentation and procedures with the authorities are underway to open the facility to the public and enable visitors to explore the area, thereby boosting the country’s tourism sector.
