Ghanaian Afro-dancehall hitmaker Stonebwoy has asserted that his 2024 hit song ‘Jejereje’ was instrumental in helping the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) clinch power in December of that year.

Speaking at the launch of Ghana's fundraising campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the artiste noted that he had made contributions in terms of releasing the song, which he claims cost $20,000 to produce.

“When we talk about contributions, I believe that my contribution has been very significant in winning power for the NDC; I so say because everybody has heard. (Proceeds to sing the chorus of the song)," he said.

He explained that he believes in "reset" (a nod to the NDC’s reset agenda) and that the song was released to help ease tensions at the height of the election season.

“I did it mainly because I am somebody who really believes in reset. So, in my own judgment, I made sure that that music was dropped within a moment where there was some ease in the system because it was so tense, and I dropped it in terms of contributions,” he said.

He further made another reference to another of the NDC’s flagship initiatives, stating that the song was produced within “24 hours.”

“The song in the background was well put together in under 24 hours by me and an able team of producers and cost the tune of at least $20,000,” he noted.
