Ghanaian Afrobeats star KiDi has become the subject of discussions online after a short video from one of his TikTok live sessions went viral.

In the 14‑second clip, a female Nigerian fan, who had the chance to speak directly to KiDi, made an unexpected appeal, asking the singer to pay her house rent in Lagos.

"I'm sorry please, if it is possible, help me to pay my house rent in Lagos," she said.

A visibly stunned KiDi paused before replying: “I should help you to pay house rent in Nigeria?” The video then went off.

The moment quickly sent social media into frenzy as it circulated widely on TikTok and X. Fans praised KiDi’s reaction while ridiculing the audacity of the request.

The comments section lit up with sharp takes such as:

"They're never beating the 'Abegistan' allegations," one user quipped, referencing Nigeria’s popular nickname and its culture of soliciting favours.

"Why will you tell someone you don’t know to pay house rent for you?" another wrote.

"How much is house rent in Nigeria that you can’t pay? Your mates are working hard, you can as well," added a third.

For many Ghanaian fans, KiDi’s response was the highlight. "See how KiDi dodged billing from this Nigerian lady," one fan commented.
