A video of Kumawood actress Mercy Asiedu and renowned movie producer Miracle Films has surfaced online, capturing a tense moment as they expressed frustration over the current state of the film industry.

In the video, sighted by GhanaWeb on X on March 17, 2026, Mercy Asiedu was seen at the Ashanti Film Summit in Kumasi alongside other Kumawood actors, including Wayoosi and Evangelist Samuel Nyamekye, engaging in a heated exchange with Bishop Ofori-Adu.

Bishop Ofori-Adu serves as the chairperson appointed to oversee the Ashanti Regional Minister’s Committee tasked with reviving and strengthening the Kumawood film industry.

According to the caption accompanying the video on X, the actors were angered by what they described as Bishop Ofori-Adu's disregard for their concerns during the event.

The caption further alleged that Bishop Ofori-Adu was pursuing a personal agenda, which the actors considered disrespectful to the movie industry.

In the roughly two-minute clip, Mercy Asiedu and Evangelist Samuel Nyamekye, unable to contain their frustration, approached the podium to voice their disappointment.

At one point, Evangelist Samuel Nyamekye was heard saying, “You people are disrespecting us. Kumasi is the reason the movie industry became accepted in Ghana. You are very annoying.”
