Reigning Highlife Artiste of the Year Fameye will have the opportunity to defend his title at the 2026 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards after securing another nomination in the category.

The singer-songwriter won the award at the 2025 ceremony, beating competition from Kuami Eugene, Kofi Kinaata, Sista Afia, and Kwabena Kwabena to claim the honour.

For the 2026 edition, Fameye will once again compete with Kwabena Kwabena, King Paluta, Kofi Kinaata, and Kuami Eugene in what is expected to be another closely contested race.

During the year under review, the musician maintained an active run with several releases, including Habit featuring Medikal, Now or Never with Stonebwoy, Control featuring Kweku Smoke, and Terry Bon Chaka with DJ Vyrusky.

Meanwhile, his monster hit Habit has also earned a nomination in the Hiplife Song of the Year category, further underscoring the impact of the song during the year under review.

Beyond his releases, Fameye also mounted performances across several events within the period, using those platforms to promote and sustain the visibility of Highlife music.

With another nomination secured, the upcoming awards present the artiste with a chance to retain the Highlife Artiste of the Year title and strengthen his position among the leading voices in the genre.
