Ghanaian artiste manager, entertainment pundit, and graphic artist Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has shared how a cartoon he drew of the late former president Jerry John Rawlings once landed him in serious trouble.
In an interview with Kafui Dey, Bullgod, who previously worked with The Chronicle Newspaper, explained that the incident happened after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) held a congress where Rawlings was stripped of a certain position.
According to him, he was tasked to illustrate a cartoon based on the development.

Bullgod said he drew a cartoon portraying Rawlings naked while covering his private parts. He added that by the time he completed the artwork, his boss was not in the right mood to review it and asked that it be published in the newspaper.
According to him, the publication of the cartoon sparked outrage, leading to demonstrations in front of their office. Fortunately for him, no one knew he was the person behind the drawing.
“There was a time I did a cartoon on Jerry Rawlings. I think at the time, the NDC had gone to Congress and stripped Rawlings of everything, so I was asked to do a cartoon. I did a cartoon of him naked, with him covering his front and back… and it was published. It was hell for us.
“There were demonstrations in front of our office. They were looking for who did the thing. For me, it was very scary. Luckily for me, they didn’t know who I was. I could just go through the crowd, and nobody would know it was me,” he shared.
