MP for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, has maintained that he will never sue anyone for defamation.

Speaking on JoyPrime, the musician-turned-politician addressed the issue of social media defamation, explaining that he accepts people like Bongo Ideas because he (A Plus) also engaged in similar activities in the past.

“I remember the things I used to say about people, so when I see people like Bongo Ideas, I just accept it. I was tough—I was always on the BBC media page, and I gave them so much pressure that they blocked me. We were just getting under people’s skin, and it made us happy. I don’t get angry when people say stuff about me on social media,” he recounted.

A-Plus recalled some false stories he spread in the past, citing Bishop Obinim and former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan.

“We did stories like Obinim going to the embassy for a visa, and they told him to fly to America if he had the power—it was all over the place,” he said.

He also admitted to fabricating a story about Asamoah Gyan’s age:

“I did one story that I think I need to apologize for today. After Asamoah Gyan’s birthday, we claimed his father said that wasn’t his real age. Asamoah was very angry and was looking for who was behind it. I was at the party myself, and he was complaining to me—but I was the culprit.”
