Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has once again taken a swipe at the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer, following the controversy surrounding his seized yellow Lamborghini Urus.

In an interview on Asempa FM shared on social media, Shatta Wale stated that Raymond Archer and the entire EOCO office should render an unqualified apology for tarnishing his brand.

According to the musician, the publications and speculations that surrounded the seizure of his Lamborghini not only affected his brand locally but also internationally.

“I am aware that I am to appear before the court today. I am still speaking with my lawyers to see if I will show up because I didn’t want the public to know, since my fans may show up and it would become a whole issue.

“I see this whole situation either as a game or that I am a target of something, which is why I don’t feel comfortable going out. I would boldly say EOCO should apologise to my brand and not just Shatta Wale because they have really tarnished my image in foreign lands. Now everybody thinks I bought a stolen car,” he said.

Shatta Wale further reiterated that he was unhappy with how he was treated by the EOCO boss, adding that he would have cooperated with the investigation quietly without drawing unnecessary public attention.

“Why would I buy a stolen car and flaunt it around? I felt so bad. I really respected the EOCO boss, and even when I saw him the first day, I knelt and told him that he shouldn’t let the issue come out because of the way he came to my house. When I saw him, I said to myself, ‘This is a new politician’s face.’

“If he had told me the car was stolen, I would have asked them to take it away quietly because I was buying a fleet of cars at that time. I could have quietly replaced the car without drawing attention to myself,” he added.
