Ghanaian rap sensation, Sarkodie, has opened up about the motivation and zeal that have kept him excelling in the industry for decades.
In a video shared online by Apple Music, Afrobeat singer KiDi curiously asked what has sustained Sarkodie’s energy over the years:
“I’ve always wanted to know what gets you out of bed to keep soldiering on after all these years of doing this. I’m very curious,” KiDi asked.

The award-winning rapper responded warmly, explaining that what keeps him going is seeing other artistes thrive.
“Whether people believe this or not, it’s because I see you guys doing this. Just the fact that I’m sitting here today talking to you—that’s what inspires me,” he said.
He added that there was a time he considered taking a break, but encouragement from others reminded him of his influence.
“There was a time I wanted to take a break, but somebody put a battery in my back and said, ‘Sarkodie, when you move, the people move.’ So just seeing you guys and what’s happening for Ghana—that’s why I’m doing this,” he asserted.
