Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, met Temi Otedola on a cold London night in January 2017.
He had walked into the ‘Tate Club’ to see Temi’s sister, Florence Otedola (DJ Cuppy), behind the decks. That chance meeting sparked a romance that blossomed over the years.
By April 2022, while shooting the music video for his song ‘Legalize’ in Venice, Mr Eazi got down on one knee and proposed. Temi said yes.
Fast forward to 2025, and the couple’s love story culminated in not one, but three weddings held across three countries.
‘Your husband is your boss, listen to him and not me’ – Femi Otedola tells daughter
Here are five standout moments that captured attention across the continent:
1. A wedding across three countries
The wedding journey began in May with a civil ceremony at the Mairie de Monaco in Monte Carlo.
In July, the couple honoured their Nigerian roots with a traditional Yoruba wedding in Dubai, held at the Otedola family home.
The final celebration took place in August, a white wedding in Iceland, which the couple described as their "favorite place on earth."
The ceremony was graced by family, friends, and some of the biggest names in business and entertainment.
2. Ginger shots from republic bar
One unique detail that caught Ghanaian social media’s attention was featured in Vogue’s wedding coverage.
After the traditional wedding in Dubai, the Otedola family home was transformed into a shisha lounge for the after-party, and guests were served ginger shots from Republic Bar, a popular nightlife spot in Accra and a favourite hangout of the couple.
Ghanaians on social media praised the subtle but meaningful inclusion of Ghanaian culture in the Dubai celebration.

3. Femi Otedola’s controversial advice
During the reception, Temi’s father, billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, gave a speech that became a talking point.
He advised his daughter to “succumb to the whims and caprices of her husband,” adding that Mr Eazi is now “her boss.”
“Okay? He’s your husband, he is your boss. There’s no more ‘dad,’ don’t call me up,” he said.
The comment sparked a wave of mixed reactions. Some viewed it as a light-hearted fatherly send-off, while others found the phrasing outdated, reigniting conversations around gender roles in modern marriages.
4. Dangote’s baby party promise
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, a close family friend, added a touch of humor and generosity to the occasion.
In his speech, he promised to host a lavish party once the couple welcomes their first child.
“I am sure within the next year or so, I will give you a very big party for the first child coming on board,” he said, even suggesting possible venues like London, Iceland, Greenland, or Miami.
5. A book as a wedding gift
Femi Otedola made headlines again with his unexpected wedding gift to the couple. While many anticipated something extravagant, a house, luxury car, or company shares, he instead presented a book.
“I thought of what I should give this couple as a present. I thought, I’ve splintered my savings account. I brought my gift.
This gift I present to you. You go out into the world. You’re both entrepreneurs. Out-think, out-maneuver, and out-spend. You’ll be great people,” he said.
Though unconventional, the gesture was widely interpreted as a symbolic and powerful message about wisdom, vision, and legacy.
