96 ENTRIES RECEIVED FOR GHANA MOVIE AWARDS 2010 NOMINATION.

At the time of going to press, Hi Newspaper has gathered that 45 movies were on the way from Kumasi (Northern Sector) to add up to the 51 entries received in Accra (Southern Sector) for consideration in the 2010 Ghana Movie Awards, whose deadline elapsed last Friday, October 22, 2010.

No details were given by the organizers who have promised to release a press statement within 48hours. According to G.P Ltd and Image Consortium, organizers of the show, Ghana Movie Awards Jury and Nomination & Selections Committee have been formed.

On Friday, November 26, 2010, the final five nominees for each of the about 32 categories would be released at a plush party to be held in Accra. Voting begins thereafter.

Ghana Movie Awards was colourfuly launched on September 30, 2010 at the Alisa Hotel in Accra. The main event will be held at the Accra International Conference Center on December 25, 2010.

Though details are yet to hit the press, Hi Confidential has info that almost all the big names in the industry have submitted movies for the nominations including Venus (6), Bandex (3), Sparrow (2) and about 45 from Kumasi.

As you read this, the jury process has begun where a core team of experts would trim down the 96 movies to 50 before the nomination process begins.
