Hip-life Artist Barosky Considers Court Action Against Ofori Amponsah

Kate Kwaanor Assumeng Offei who released her album at the weekend says she loves to worship God and while in deep worship, she is inspired to write songs some of which she has compiled for her maiden entitled 'Yefewu'.

Born to Papa Offei and the late Grace Oku, a former MP in the NDC era, Kate has sung since she was nine. It does not come as a surprise that she has eventually chosen music as the avenue for communicating with people about the love of God.

The last of a family of seven, Kate attended Mfantisman Girls Secondary and later traveled to Italy to study language and culture after which she studied Information Technology at the West Thames University in England.

Like most gospel musicians of note in the gospel circuit, Kate started singing at the age of nine and continued while at Mfantsiman Secondary School where she led the praises and worship sessions, during scripture union sessions and rallies.

As one of the favourites of Pastor Dan Worson of Power Fire Prayer Ministry, she was given the opportunity to minister both in word and songs during their church services.

Fellowshipping and ministering at other churches during crusades and other church activities has given Kate all the confidence and solid foundation she needed to hit the competitive market of gospel music.

There is no doubt that she can rub shoulders with the best in that category. Her album 'Yefrewu' opens with a beautifully song in English entitled 'Do as you wish' in which the lyrics says it all "Oh my god without you', I just can't do anything, so I pray thee, lord to do, as you wish, and let your, spirit lead the way".

That Kate has a lot of experience is seen from the well-orchestrated instrumentation and the powerful rendition of her songs together with her backing vocals.

Among the many inspiring and thought provoking songs in her albums are 'Bisa Ewurade', 'Yesu do', 'Aketua', 'Honhon Kronkron', and a slow version of 'Do as you wish'.

The rest are worship, a medley of worship songs intended to propagate the message of our lord Jesus Christ, 'Mefre ma ku me mu' and 'Ehenta humu'.

All songs were written and composed by Kate, who is eternally grateful to god, her late mother and Pastor Dan Worson, among many others.
