Nii Okine Anointed With Worship

Gospel and christian music in Ghana, has for sometime now seen the emergence of young artistes, whose creative touches to song writing, ministration and unique live performances have contributed immensely to the changing face of the genre for the better.

Consequently, the likes of Danny Nettey, Josh Laryea, Ike Nanor, Ohemaa Mercy, O.J, Kweku Gyasi, Nii Okine, etc are worth noting as together with The Commissioned Family, Joyful Way Inc, Tagoe Sisters, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Soul Winners among others, have helped raised the standards of worship and praise.

With his first album, Moko Be, Nii Okine Okine, did more than just out-dooring a gospel album. He stood the grounds and made sure the God-given messages in his songs reached and touched all who listened to radio or watched on TV. It was therefore not by sheer coincidence that the title track, Moko Be, became a dominant household and church worship song even to this day.

Speaking to Kojo Oppong Agyei of Sunny Fm, Nii Okine disclosed that he found worship to be very important in the lives of believers and wanted his latest project and album, Worshipful, to add up to Moko Be in that case. The Worshipful album is set to be released on Sunday, May 14, by means of a celebration concert at his church, Tema Methodist Church, popularly called The Cathedral, in the evening.

The night promises to filled with excitement and God's anointing, having gospel dynamites like Rev. Joe Beechem, Ike Nanor, Josh Laryea, Danny Nettey, The Harbour City Mass Choir and many more billed for the concert.

The album has tracks made in the vein of highlife, slow Kpalogo, worship and praise. There are, however, some surprise elements in this new piece which will bless the hearts of music lovers in general.
