Dawuni, others for Canada show

Ghana's International Reggae Star, Rocky Dawuni, continues his globetrotting streak of performances with a scheduled appearance at one of Canada's most high profile events, We Day, at the Air Canada Center in Toronto on September 30th, 2010.

The event will also feature Somalian hip hop star K'Naan, appearances by luminaries like Nobel Peace Prize winners Wangari Maathai and Betty Williams as well as bestselling author Deepak Chopra among many others. The event will be broadcast on Canada's CTV and other major networks.

We Day was started by international children’s charity, Free The Children to celebrate the power of young people to create positive change in the world. Since 2007, youth from across North America have come together to discover the passion they have in common, to celebrate their successes, to become aware of new challenges, and to build lasting friendships. The event features speeches by global leaders, social activists, cultural icons and performances by some of the top entertainers in the world.

These events come on the heels of the Ghanaian stars recent two month European tour, his show stopping performance at the Levitt Pavilion in Los Angeles and his critically acclaimed appearance on the influential KCRW's “Morning Becomes Eclectic” radio show with Jason Bentley. Rocky Dawuni's current album "Hymns for the Rebel Soul” is now available on ITunes worldwide.
