"The Beast" To Premiere At Silverbird On September 17

Venus Film is returning to the silver-screens with what it described as yet another captivating movie from its stables.

Titled ‘The Beast’, the movie is set to hit the cinema from Friday, September 17, starting with a red carpet grand premiere at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra that Friday.

As usual, the event is anticipated to be a star studded event as some of the crème de la crème of the movie industry will be there. Also, it is expected to cause a stir in Ghana’s rising box-office.

The title of the movie, ‘The Beast’, is a bit suggestive as it gives the impression that it is Venus’ first horror movie. However, the movie’s trailer ignites a different feeling.

‘The Beast’ is a story of an overprotective father who wants his daughter to make perfect choices in life. But what is perfect, according to him, may not be the same for his grown up daughter. She believes she is mature enough and capable of taking crucial decisions concerning her life.

Harry Williams (Majid Michel) and Natasha (Dina Pealoe) are desperately in love and have plans to marry but when Natasha tells her overbearing and typical African father, played by Kofi Adjorlolo, about their upcoming nuptials, hell breaks loose.

Tension mounts between father and daughter and Harry, who is being hunted by his past and present life, also worsens the situation. Natasha Brooks has found love in Harry Williams and thinks he is the ultimate man. But she is yet to find out about the beast in Harry.

What action does a daughter take when she thinks her father is driving a wedge between her and the man she desperately loves? What action does she take when the father tries to warn her that Harry is not what he seems to be?

And what are the ramifications when Natasha follows her heart? These are questions movie fans will have answers to when they see the movie. “‘The Beast’ has the style, unique editing and indeed a cracking soundtrack,” said a release issued by Venus Films production.

“This will be a decisive cinema-going experience for sure. ‘The Beast’ will definitely keep fans on the edge of their seats. It is exciting, rejuvenating and is a must watch movie,” it added.

Other stars in the movie include, Naana Heyford, Timothy Bentum and Dina Paeloe, who is a new face. Screen play is by Afra Marley and story is by Abdul Salam Mumuni, with Associate producer being Roger Quartey. The movie is directed by Frank Raja.
