Roger Quartey Hits Town With New Movie

Roger Harold Quartey is a well-known figure in the movie industry, who for the past nineteen years has played a very vital role in the area of movie production, albeit in the background. All the productions he has managed those years can be said to be of pure class comprising competent cast and production crew.

He is not only noted for his good acting skills but has also helped in the nurturing of most of the country’s well known movie celebrities.

“…my dream as a production manager is to always help those raw talents and groom them to become professionals,” he told peacefmonline.

With over hundred movies as a production manager, actor and producer Roger Quartey opines that it is high time the world knows how accomplished he is when it comes to film writing, marketing and production. Roger, who started his movie career with the HM films in the year 1991, and then proceeded to Abdul Sallam’s Venus Films, has been the brain behind most of Venus productions.

Now, for the first time in his entire nineteen years in the movie industry as an actor and a production manager, he is on-set ready to come out with his own production.

With regards to this particular production he doubled as an actor and an executive producer under the Roger Q Productions.

The movie which is directed by Frank Rajah, casts such accomplished actors and actresses like Kofi Adjorlolo, Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah, John Dumelo, Kalsum Sinare, Odoi Mensah, Eddy Nartey, Timothy Bentum, Ben Kuadey, Beverly Afaglo, Roselyn Ngissah, Omar De 1st and a host of others. It is a unique blend of veteran or experienced artistes with the new ones.

Peacefmonline sought to find out more about the movie, but the only thing a tight-lipped Roger could say was “the movie will hit the screens in the early part of August with a grand premiering.” Even when asked of the title of the movie, the affable production manager was non-committal.

Roger Quartey who has worked with almost all the production houses in the country is one gentleman who does not believe in the more sex more money syndrome that seems to be the in-thing in the movie industry. He is of the opinion that a good story can be told, without necessarily the use of nude scenes which he believes is the cheapest way to package a story.

His assurance to his ardent fans is “i will never disappoint them in any way and also they should just wait patiently for my maiden production”.

The movie, which is definitely set to blow the minds of the critics and movie-goers alike, has a lot of twist and turns and is full of suspense, blackmail, impersonation, cheating, greed and deceit.
