The drive in Van Vicker to raise funds for the Haitians is almost unquenchable and this is probably traceable to the fact that he was almost caught up in the Haiti earthquake himself as he planned to go to shoot his new movie there but he miraculously escaped, thanks to work engagements that led to the change of traveling dates.

Speaking on the fund raising event for Haiti, Van Vicker says ‘My heart is still heavy over the death of over 150,000 people, the loss is palpable and the pain is great and I know it is almost impossible for anyone to take the pain away completely but I intend to go all out for this fund raising event, even if all It will do is to put a smile on just one Haitian’s face’
