YAGSHS wins inter-schools Red Cross quiz competition

Kumasi, June 4, GNA - The Yaa Asanatewaa Girls Senior High School in Kumasi emerged winners of this year's annual Ashanti Regional inter-schools Red Cross quiz competition, taking home a certificate and an ice chest as their prize.

They won by 51 points, followed by Prempeh College and Saint Louis Senior High School who also had 33 and 31 points respectively. They also had a certificate and an ice chest each.

The competition organized by the Ashanti Regional Secretariat of the Ghana Red Cross Society brought together over 16 Senior High Schools in the region to compete in first aid issues and general knowledge. Addressing the students after the competition, Mr Kwadwo Oduro Appeatu, Regional Secretary of the Red Cross, commended the students for their comportment and competitive spirit, and advised them to make it a point to put the knowledge they have learnt on first aid to practice at all times. Mr Clement Owusu Banahene, Regional Youth Organiser on his part advised the members to make good use of the training acquired, to benefit society in general towards the total development of the nation.
