Legon (GAR), DEC 14, GNA - The Chairman of the Legon Akan Biakoye Kuo, a benevolent association of Akan citizens, Nana Korankye Prempeh, has called on residents of the University of Ghana Staff Village at Legon, to keep their environment clean.
Speaking at an end of year get-together of the group on Sunday at Legon, he reminded them that because of Ghana's Golden Jubilee Independence anniversary in March, foreign dignitaries would be visit Legon being the premier University in the country to see development over the past 50 years when it was established.
He called on members of the Association to take active part in activities to mark the anniversary at Legon since some of them would not be alive to witness centenary celebration, which is 50 years away. The Secretary of the Association, Mr. Lord Otu-Addo, said even though the Association encountered some problems last year, it organised excursions to the Akosombo Dam, Kpong Water Works and the Accra Zoo. The seven-member executive with Nana Korankye Prmepeh as Chairman, Mr Francis Bekoe Yirenkyi, Vice Chairman and Mr. Lord Otu Addo as Secretary for the past two years and had been retained for another term were introduced at the function.
The other members of the executive retained are Madam Esther Abrokwah, Mr. Paul Osei, Mr. Thomas Asiamah Ansah and Mr. Isaac Yeboah.
