Youthful Love Of Art Comes To Life With Moonlight Café On October 13th

Ghana’s finest youth performing art event, Moonlight Café, returns this October, 13th with a humor themed show dubbed, the “Comedy Lounge” at the Central Café of the University of Ghana, Legon.

From its hugely successful debut event held in April 2011 and staged inside the University of Ghana, there have been six other highly successful editions of the Moonlight Café shows with the last edition, attracting an audience of over 700 people.

Moonlight Café presents an eclectic blend of live music, spoken word and comedy; and has, over the last year, provided a platform for young, undiscovered talents to showcase their gifts to the world, while providing a place for patrons of great music, poetry and comedy to enjoy the arts they love.

While initially geared toward students in the tertiary institutions and targeting student performers, Moonlight Café has expanded to include performers from diverse walks of life; from previously unknown young acts to established icons in Ghana’s entertainment industry today.

Previous Moonlight Café shows have witnessed acts such as comedians DKB and David Foster as well as the iconic Jay So, Efya and many others; all of whom enthralled audiences with unforgettable performances that have received rave reviews.

The Comedy club is a show born out of Moonlight Café’s intent to diversify; and will include performances of music and spoken word, but it will fundamentally be a night for comedy.

Comedians set to rock on the night include Idiot James Brown, Hogan of 1014 Laughs Fame, Rhino, Foster Ajeezay and King Kofi among others. There will be live music provided by the amazing Afro Harmony Band, with performances from E.L., Double, Lady J, Faint Medal and many more. The highly anticipated rave is expected to attract an audience of over a thousand people. Tickets are currently selling for GHC10.

Moonlight Café’s Comedy Lounge is powered by the Moonlight Café Group in collaboration with Empire Entertainment; and sponsored by RLG Communications, First Capital Plus, BUZZGH, BSL Clothing and Wade Laurel Print.
