The ‘Year of Return’ initiative has seen many African Americans living in the diaspora visit Ghana to learn about their roots and most especially slavery in the country.

It has also given all those who visit the country the opportunity to experience Ghanaian hospitality.

Famous Black Americans and Carribeans have visited this year. They include T.I. and his wife, Steve Harvey, Samuel Leroy Jackson, Danny Glover, Kofi Kingston, Idris Elba, Boris Codjoe, Michael Jai White, musician Jidenna, and Rosario Dawson.

The 'Year of Return' is an initiative by the Ghanaian government to commemorate 400 years of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, Virginia.
