Yaw Sakyi turns down Bandex movie role

It was recently revealed on The Rundown show on TV Africa that the host, Yaw Sakyi turned down a movie role offer from music producer turned movie producer, Ahmed Banda alias Bandex. The revelation happened when the movie producer told the viewing public that Yaw Sakyi had turned him down on one of his movie projects. According to Bandex, he wants to contribute to the growth of the industry and he felt that the likes of Yaw Sakyi are needed to make the progression.

Bandex was in the studio with fellow movie producer Abdul Salam Mumuni to speak on new developments and the way forward for the Ghanaian movie industry. Bandex made mention of what he termed as his first glamour movie titled, ‘Millions’ and that was when the outspoken producer revealed that Yaw Sakyi turned down his offer to star in the movie.

Although Yaw Sakyi didn’t make his reasons for turning down the role on air, he jokingly said perhaps the money was not enough. In a witty reply, Bandex asked Yaw not to speak about the money because money was not an issue. Perhaps Yaw Sakyi didn’t find the script good enough. As part of the growth that Ghanaians want in the movie industry, it won’t be a bad idea for some of the movie stars to turn down some of the bad roles that come their way.
