Popular filmmaker, Jackson K Bentum, also father to young Kumawood actress, Yaa Jackson, has for the first time spoken about his daughter’s pursuit in the showbiz industry.
Bentum, according to reports seen by YEN.com.gh on social media, had an interview on Accra-based Hitz FM to clarify some rumours and also set certain matters straight concerning Yaa.
According to him, contrary to reports that she is 17 years as Yaa made people believe, his daughter is actually 19 years.
Yaa’s father revealed further that he never forced her into acting as she was only 2 years old when she made her movie debut. “She might have said that I forced her into acting out of interview pressure,” Jackson Bentum said.
He rejected reports which portrayed his daughter as arrogant. According to him, those reports were coming from a fake page that is impersonating his daughter with a very rude character on Facebook.
He added that they have reported that particular page to Facebook countless times but that hasn’t yielded any positive result yet.
Nevertheless, Yaa’s father says all of that is part of the showbiz game and he understands how it works, therefore, he is not extremely bothered or surprised about how his daughter is being unfortunately characterized.
He admired Yaa’s courage to make waves with her controversial social media lifestyle saying that he wonders the kind of heart she has.
In his view, Yaa has done well in the way she has handled her fame and many criticisms and backlashes suffered in the hands of the media.
The young actress was condemned heavily in the media for claiming that she dated and dumped an old MP because he “refused to pay”.
She also said her attires costed not less than 1,000 cedis, indicating that she is a rich girl.
Yaa Jackson also released a single in which she said that she would never date a man who cannot afford a brand new car, and many people attacked her on social media.
