Christmas in Takoradi wasn’t only about Masqueraders group popularly known as ‘Ankos’ display, but also, the introduction of the Biggest Outdoor & Metallic Christmas Tree event powered by Corp Nation and partners which was successfully organized at the forecourt of the Takoradi Mall, Ghana – West Africa.

The CEO of CorpNation, Corp Sayvee, shared the idea of mounting the biggest Christmas Tree in Africa with partners who constitute engineering firms, bloggers, media men and the Takoradi Mall. Having come together as a team for the first time only on Thursday 12 December 2019, it already appeared the team could not execute the project in 2019. Nonetheless, they made it! The idea was processed, transformed and the team eventually erected a completely metal fabricated Christmas tree at the forecourt of the Takoradi Mall on 23rd December 2019.

The gigantic outdoor Christmas Tree which currently holds the record as the biggest in Africa (21.5 feet tall and wide) was fabricated locally and made from metal and later lighted up to give it a beautiful and sparkling magical feel.

The team saw how beautiful the tree was and quickly organized a couple of activities around it. The tree was launched on 24th December and the first event dubbed “Bronya Ndwom” (Jama Night) similar to Carols Night was held around it on the night of 31st December. People who attended the event were treated to powerful captivating “Jama” display by three Jama groups based in Takoradi; Gomango, Langabel & Power Jama groups.

This was purposely done to introduce a new traditional feel to our Christmas celebration in Africa which was mostly Westernised . The idea was to encourage the singing of local and indigenous praise songs during Christmas.

The second event was held on 1st January 2020. This event was put together to encourage the act of giving during Christmas. The team hosted some children from Father’s Home Care Ministries (children’s home) based in Takoradi around the tree. They were treated sumptuous food and drinks and also through fun games. The team also invited the public to join them in donating some items to the kids. As part of the package, the CEOs of CorpNation and Stressters Engineering, Corp Sayvee and Mr. Michael Appiah later in the day had a separate session with the group and enlightened the adults among them on the essence of establishing and shaping better dreams and aspirations. Corp Sayvee emphasized… “your dreams determine the choices you make in life”.

In all, it was a successful project filled with numerous amazing moments. The world should watch out for the 2020 edition of this project.

The team was made up of the following: CorpNation (showbiz organization), Stressters Engineering (metal fabricators and steelworks) , Run On Time Engineering (metal fabricators and steel works) , Talent Promotions (Events promoters and Entertainment Organisers) , Techaus Engineering (metal fabricators and steelworks) , Vital Creations (Large format printing, Corporate branding, 3D signage, etc), Rosado Catering, ghgossip.com, 233times.com, PKE photography and PKE Worldwide (Graphic designing and video animation and LO metal fabrication ( metal fabricators) (manufacturers of the the tree).
