Ghana's international music star Wiyaala and award-winning spoken word artist Pobee Mwintombo are to launch the brand new stage at First and Last Gardens, one of the Upper West Region's best loved landmark restaurant and bars which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this Sunday, 23rd December in an event sponsored by Club Live.

"The Stage" is the brainchild of one of the region's most successful entrepreneurs, Mr Kala Gaeten.

Set in a delightful twenty-acre garden environment and comprising a full size permanent stage, "The Stage" is equipped with lighting rigs and all the mod cons needed host world class performances.

A fully air-conditioned "Green Room" is also under construction to afford visiting artistes a "pampering" experience rarely available in Ghana.

"This is the result of twenty years of blood, sweat and tears" said the Mr. Kala Gaeten. "After seeing Wiyaala's efforts to put our region and Ghana on the international map in recent years, I was inspired to make this happen so that our talents have a proper facility to entertain both our people and the foreign visitors we hope to attract".

Elvis Demuyakor, proprietor of sponsor Dallagio Hotel, is also enthusiastic about prospects for the region saying that interest in the region is on the up and is really set to take off when Wa Airport begins flights to Accra and beyond.

"The Upper West has a different vibe, we have good hotels and communications, and a more relaxed way of living with plenty of tourist attractions such as the Weichau Hippo Sanctuary, Mole Park and historic sites like Larabanga all within easy reach".

The show starts at 6pm and Wiyaala will be backed by the Ghana Police Band Wa, who have spent the week rehearsing with the Upper West star who toured the world in 2018.

"It's great to be bringing it all home. This week I'm in Wa and next week it's back to where it all began, for the Djimba World Festival in Funsi," Wiyaala said.
