Willie Roi to be buried on March 30; family observes one week celebration

Family, friends, musicians, Zylofon staff and sympathizers all gathered at the family residence in Tema Community 7 to observe the one-week celebration of the Late Willie Roi.

Willi Roi who played a vital role in establishing Zylofon Arts Club died in his apartment at Royal Richester Hotel at East Legon on Sunday, February 10, 2019. The death of the showbiz critic saddened the country and got many in shock.

Saturday, March 30, 2019 has been slated for the funeral of the former Artiste Manager and Repertoire of Zylofon Music and would take place at the Coca-Cola park, Tema Community 7.

Some celebrities who spoke to Ghanaweb eulogised the late Willie Roi stressing that he should be celebrated for living a legendary life whilst on earth.

Others also said Ghana needs ‘controversial’ people like Willie Roi in the entertainment industry to ginger musicians up. According to them, Willie Roi was a genius who had up-and-coming artistes looking up to him because of his years of experience in the music industry.

Head of Communication for Zylofon Media; Sammy Flex, Producer; Arnold Elevanyo, Kofi Kinatta, Daddy Boscow, Legandary Osei-Tutu, Willie of Willie and Mike fame, Randy Abbey, Bessa Simon, Donzy, D-Cryme, Daddy Opanka are a few among the many that made an appearance.



The late Willie Roi is one of the die-hard fans who would do anything for the ‘Shatta Movement’ and for their boss, Shatta Wale. The Shatta Movement fanbase have also showed up at the memorial to mourn their top Shatta fan (Willie Roi) with their own rendition of Shatta Wale’s jam song “Cultural Anthem”

He has also been a constant critic of afro-dancehall musician Stonebwoy since he was signed onto Zylofon Music record label.

Willi Roi was a showbiz critic and an outspoken panellist on Zylofon FM.
