Wife Goes To Jail For Hubby

Edina Amankwa, a 42-year-old housewife, who could not bear seeing her beloved husband remanded into custody and bailed him in the sum of ¢10 million, will spend the next six months in jail.

The husband, Frank Flovie (Snr), also known as Brother, jumped bail and Edina could not pay the bail sum. The judge dutifully applied the law and Edina is serving time for trying to help her husband who rather ended up betraying her. The accused appeared before the court presided over by Mr. Yaw Twumasi-Ankrah charged with stealing a car engine and a gear box worth ¢14 million.

Flovie pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of ¢10 million with one surety.

The accused after he had been granted bail over a month ago, disappeared.

Edina was given the custodial sentence of six months imprison on Monday, August 14 when she appeared before the court without her husband and could also not pay the bail sum of ¢10 million.

The case as presented by the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Stephen Frimpong, was that one Nene Adjartey Ngmlikiti reported to the police in November 2005 that Frank Flovie Senior known as Brother, a mechanic stole his car engine and gear box.

Flovie was subsequently arrested and put before the court.
