Global music sensation Moliy has revealed that in 2019, she worked with a popular Nigerian producer, only to realize he did not respect her skills.
In a post shared on X on March 4, 2026, the ‘Shake It To The Max’ hitmaker explained that while the producer was “hot” at the time, every session in the studio made it clear that he did not value her contributions.
She said the producer even asked her go to Camidoh for songwriting support, which resulted in two songs she described as “dope.”
“Worked with this Nigerian producer in 2019, he was hot at the time and I was so excited to be making music with him, but every session it just got more and more apparent he didn’t rate me, he thought my writing was shit so he recommended Camidoh to write for me and we made two dope songs, I kept coming to sessions and he would just have me sit while he did his own work and flirted around. I asked him to send me the mp3s and he said he won’t and he charges 10$k for a beat,” she wrote.

Moliy added that at the time, an investor was ready to back her music career, and she had hoped that the sessions with the Nigerian producer would lead to a release.
However, the producer was unwilling to help, so she moved on to collaborate with other producers.
Eventually, when she presented the new work to the investor, she was told that she was not ready yet.
“At this time, some entrepreneur wanted to sign me as a way to get into the music industry and we were banking on these sessions as the project to release. After a month of working with other producers, cos mans wasn’t having my time and I wanted to deliver a project regardless. I played everything for producer + entrepreneur and their response was, you’re not there yet go and work on writing for 6 months,” she recalled.
Moliy said despite the setbacks, she persevered and worked on a solo project during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
That project eventually caught the attention of one of Ghana’s leading artistes at the time, and their collaboration became one of the biggest hits to come from Ghana.
“I finish my project solo, still never hearing those 2 songs we did again or hearing from them, and I drop my EP months later in the heat of lockdown 2020. Fast forward it reaches the ears of one of Ghanas leading artists at the time and we make a record that proceeds to be the biggest hit to come from Ghana then,” she
The singer disclosed that after the song went global, the Nigerian producer reached out, claiming he had a track for her featuring Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema, but she blocked him upon seeing the message.
“Fast forward I receive a dm. it’s the producer he says he has a song for me and it’s with Rema. I unfollowed him and never responded,” she added.
