After a decade of staging BHIMFest on home soil, Afro-Dancehall star Stonebwoy, who previously announced that the festival is heading to the United Kingdom, has shared his reasons for the move from Ghana to Europe.

During an Instagram Live session with UK-based Nigerian entertainment personality Adesope Olajide, the ‘Gidigidi’ hitmaker stated that the move is a natural next step for a festival that has grown into one of Ghana's largest concerts.

Stonebwoy pointed to the growing momentum of Ghanaian artistes performing at landmark UK venues as part of his motivation, giving a special nod to Sarkodie's recent show at the iconic Royal Albert Hall.

“This is the time for Ghanaians and Ghanaian musicians, both at home and in the diaspora, to keep the door open when it comes to performing or bringing shows to these types of arenas. So, shoutouts to Sarkodie, who just performed at the Royal Albert Hall. I had had a taste of that when I performed with Angelique Kidjo.

"We know how it feels when we are actually exploiting these types of levels. It makes our people happy," he said.

Having sold out the Accra Sports Stadium for three consecutive editions, including a widely praised concert in 2025, Stonebwoy said the time is right to bring the experience to Ghanaians and Africans in the diaspora who have long supported the festival from abroad.

“BHIMFest has to move. It's 10 years already It has been held in Ghana. The last three times we did the stadium, Accra Sports Stadium was crazy. I appreciate the people from the diaspora who always come home at the end of the year to make sure that all these headline events are successful. Now what we have to do is take it to them," he said.

He added that the UK edition of BHIMFest represents more than just a concert; it is about exporting African culture, sound, and business to the world.

"We are taking the African culture with us, we are taking the sound with us, we are taking the business with us. We're running it around the world," Stonebwoy said.
