What celebrities have said about the Black Stars’ consecutive defeats
What was meant to be a series of confidence-building international friendlies ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup has instead turned into a string of embarrassing defeats for the Black Stars.
Ghana’s nightmare began on March 27 when Austria thrashed the team 5–1, their heaviest defeat in 19 years.
Three days later, in Stuttgart, Germany, Ghana suffered a 2–1 loss.
The results mean Ghana has now lost four consecutive matches, conceding ten goals in that stretch.
Public frustration has spilled onto social media, with several Ghanaian celebrities weighing in.

Nana Aba Anamoah:
The media personality had earlier expressed frustration with the team, questioning why money was given to the Black Stars while people were dying in hospitals.
After the Germany match, Nana Aba lightened the mood, sharing playful chats with her followers on X.

Dr. Sonnie Badu:
The Gospel artiste had pointed to communication breakdowns and a lack of player bonding as root causes of the team's struggles.
After the game against Germany, Sonnie Badu vouched for former coach Kwesi Appiah to return as head coach.
Shatta Wale:
The dancehall superstar, who had earlier pledged $100,000 to Ghana's World Cup fundraising campaign took to TikTok Live to air his frustration, hilariously asking if the Black Stars were playing for the World Cup of “World Bottle.”

The playwright and show host took to Facebook to list some posssible coaches to replace Otto Addo.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association parted ways with Otto Addo hours after the Germany defeat, with 72 days remaining until the World Cup kickoff.
Addo, who made history as the first coach to lead Ghana to two separate World Cups, finishes with a record of 8 wins, 5 draws, and 9 losses.
With Ghana drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama, the search for a replacement coach is on.
